After a thrilling win over the Atlanta Braves the San Francisco Giants will meet the Phillies in the 2010 National League Championship Series (NLCS) for the chance to represent the NL in the World Series. The MLB playoffs have been great so far, but the real action is just starting up for the Phillies! With the opportunity to sell 2010 World Series tickets hanging in the balance, this is going to be a really big game for everyone involved. If you though Phillies playoff tickets were hot against the Reds, well the NLCS is going to be even more crazy! You do not want to wait to buy Phillies NLCS tickets because they are going to be totally out of control for sure. From the beginning of the series analysts had praised the pitching staff of both the Phillies and Giants. They definitely have the cream of the crop when it comes to starting pitching, and seeing who will come out on top is going to be a real thriller. Anything can happen, but in a seven game series the better team is supposed to win.
Game one, set for October 16, sees two Cy Young Award winners in Roy “no hitter” Halladay taking on Tim “the Freak” Lincecum in a matchup of epic proportions. According to the Mercury News Lincecum is ready to take on Halladay, but you should maybe show up just to make sure. Certain hall of famer Halladay takes on one of the most electric young pitchers in the history of baseball. The two-time Cy Young Award winner Lincecum is one of the few pitchers in major league baseball that can go toe to toe with Halladay. This is going to be a real big game, and Phillies tickets WILL be hot for this one.
The NLCS continued the next day, Sunday October 17 with Matt Cain taking on Roy Oswalt. Matt “Big Sugar” Cain was an All-Star in 2009, and in some circles they say he was even better that Lincecum this year. Cain’s rocking a 3.14 era compared to Oswalt’s 2.76. Both pitchers won 13 games this year, however Oswalt has 13 losses to Cain’s 11. They are very close in terms of talent, so if you have Phillies vs Giants tickets you are going to see some great baseball
The Phillies Giants series shifts to San Francisco for Game Three, set for October 19. The pitching phenomenon continues at AT&T Park, with Jonathan Sanchez taking on Cole Hamels. Both these pitchers have impressive stats, very impressive for the teams third starter. Sanchez had a no-hitter on July 10, of 2009 and also set a Giants post-season record on October 11 after striking out eleven consecutive Braves hitters! Eleven hitters in a row is just plain stupid, and you know that the Phillies have their work cut out for them,. But the Phillies are a better-hitting team than the Giants, and the pitcher the Giants will be facing has been just as electric. Cole Hamels, the 2008 World Series MVP, take the mound against Sanchez. Hamels was terrific in his NLDS start against the Braves, so expect another pitchers duel in game three.
Its tough to predict the starting rotation after game three, as managers will likely go with their gut regarding who they start, especially when short rest comes into the equation. All in all this Phillies Giants NLCS series is going to showcase pitching talent we have not seen on the same team perhaps ever. If you can get out to Citizens Bank Park you will see an incredible show. SO get your Phillies playoff tickets right now so that you don’t miss out on the excitement.
